HUNTSVILLE — Pending final approval by the state’s Comptroller of the Treasury, the transfer of the county-owned sewer system to the Town of Huntsville has been finalized.

County Commission, meeting in regular monthly session here Monday, voted 13-1 to transfer the wastewater treatment plant, all sewer lines, pumps, etc., of the central and western portions of the system through an Joint Resolution with the the Town of Huntsville.

Huntsville’s Mayor and Board of Aldermen voted in favor of the resolution at the urging of Mayor George W. Potter in its April meeting.
