Zona Robbins Walker, 97, passed away April 30, 2014, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born in Robbins, April 17, 1917, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Wesley Walker, and son, John Wesley Walker.

She is survived by her daughters: Carol MacKay, and Judge Patricia FitzGerald; son-in-law, Tom FitzGerald; grandsons: Garrett, Luke, and Sean FitzGerald, all of Louisville, Ky.; sisters: Mattie Walker of Oneida, and Ina Robbins of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews, including Anita Walker and Kenneth Robbins, both of Scott County; and many other relatives.

She was an active member of the Ashby Lane Baptist Church for many years, serving for a number of years as church pianist; and retired after working many years as an elementary school teacher.  Throughout her life, her strength of will, determination, humor, and perpetual sense of wonder kept her young at heart. She touched the hearts and lives of countless students and others with her faith, her charity, and her love.

Funeral service was conducted May 3, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Interment followed at Carson Memorial Park.
