Oneida senior Kennedi Reed was named District 4-A's defensive player of the year during a meeting of the district's softball coaches in Oneida Wednesday morning.
Reed, who recently signed with Carson-Newman University, was among five Lady Indians receiving all-district accolades.
Also receiving district superlatives were Oliver Springs' Courtney Jones, named both player of the year and pitcher of the year, and Matt Headen, named coach of the year. Jellico's Abby Tiller was named offensive player of the year, while Coalfield's Megan Ratcliffe was named freshman of the year.
Named to the all-district team from Oneida were seniors Micah Stephens and Amanda May, and sophomores Jenna Bridges and Tesla Huling.
Oliver Springs' Emily and Rachel Griffith were named to the all-district team, along with Hope Jenkins and Tiffany Roberts.
From Coalfield, Diana Ratcliffe, Megan Ratcliffe, Kaylea Foster and Morgan Meredith were named to the all-district team.
Jellico's Courtney Charles, Emily Hughes and Devin Gulley were named to the all-district team.
From Wartburg, Kristen Barnette, Kristie Phillips and Sydney Elrod were named to the all-district team.
Oakdale's Baley Pease and Kristan Tilson were named all-district, as were Sunbright's Brittany Keeton and Reshea Roberts.
