Bernard Clinton Cross, 67, of Oneida, passed away April 20, 2014, at his home.

Born June 24, 1946, he was the preceded in death by his parents, Ledford and Helen Marcum Cross; daughter, Katrina Cross; grandson, Preston Miller; sister, Henrietta Cross; and father- and mother-in-law, Harold and Fanny Thompson.

He worked for Plateau Electric for 38 years, was a United States Army Veteran, and was a member of the DAV, American Legion, VFW, and First Baptist Church-Oneida.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Thompson Cross of Oneida; sons: Rick (Kendra) Cross, and Anthony (Misty) Cross; daughter, Elise (Richard) Miller; Grandchildren: Heather Anderson, Richie Cross, Katie, Cross, Annie Cross, Tommy Miller, Chyanne Miller, Danica Miller, Kyra Cross, Heaven Smithers, Christian Cross, and Faith Cross;  great-grandchildren: James, Rosie, and Ransom;  special friend, Wayne Posey; special cousins:  Gary Cross, Barbara Watts, and Betty OíHara; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted April 22, at First Baptist Church-Oneida with Dr. Doug White and Bro. Dale Smith officiating.  Music was provided by Allen Martin. Graveside service was to have been conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Smith-Forbis Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
