WARTBURG — Jenna Bridges had three RBIs and scored two more runs here Thursday, and Oneida capped Easter week with a 10-0 District 4-A win over Wartburg.
In their second district win in as many nights, the Lady Indians — who defeated Jellico 11-1 on Wednesday evening action at Bear Creek — completed Thursday's game in five innings.
Bridges scored her first run in the first inning, starting the game with a lead-off walk and later scoring on an RBI by Kennedi Reed.
That was Oneida's only run in the first inning, but the Lady Indians would score three runs in each of the next two innings to take control.
In the top of the second inning, Presley West got things started with a lead-off single, was advanced to second on a sacrifice by Shyann West, then scored on a sacrifice RBI by Bridges.
With two outs, the Lady Indians would prove to make the most of their final out. Tesla Huling reached base, followed by Reed, who got to first on balls. Both scored on a two-run single by Micah Stephens, and Oneida led 4-0.
In the third inning, Oneida's first three batters to the plate scored as the Lady Indians took a commanding 7-0 lead. Jasmine Jones and Amanda May both walked to start the inning, before Presley West singled to load the bases with no outs.
A sacrifice RBI by Shyann West scored Jones, and a two-run single by Bridges scored May and Presley West.
Oneida scored runs in each of the next two innings before the game was called on runs. In the top of the fourth, Jones reached base on a one-out double, then scored on an RBI single by Presley West. In the fifth, Bridges walked, then scored on an RBI double by Huling. Huling scored on an RBI by Reed to complete Oneida's scoring.
Presley West earned the win on the mound, striking out four in the shut-out win.
