Joyce Helen Cook, 73, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away April 8, 2014, in Somerset, Kentucky.

Born in Oneida, July 21, 1940, she was preceded in death by her parents, Garvel and Etta Acres Reynolds; husband, Alva Cook; great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Jones; siblings: Earl Reynolds and Norma Hurley; and special sister-in-law, Wilma Wilson.

She was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church,  a member of Senior Friends of Lake Cumberland, was a lover of southern gospel country music, and loved reading biographies.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary (Mack) Bell of Somerset, Ky., and Betty McCarty of Nancy, Ky.; son, David (Diane) Cook of Madisonville, Tenn.; grandchildren: Kim, D, Sashia, Mack, Kia, Tracey, Starla, Brandi, and Maranda; special niece, Karen (Denny) Collins; 11 great-grandchildren, siblings: Junior (Judy) Reynolds, Lois Pike, Larry (Patricia) Reynolds, Diana Ellis, and Vivian Bowling; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted April 12, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Huggins officiating. Music was provided by Brandi Huggins. Interment followed at Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.
