Betty Whittenberger, 77, passed away April 9, 2014, at Tennova North Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born in Stearns, Kentucky, January 4, 1937, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Josh and Jewell King Duncan;  husband, Park Whittenberger; daughter, Charlotte Henson Brinker; granddaughter, Christine Egerton Cash; three infant brothers, and sister, Shirley Lou Wright.

She was a member of New River Baptist Church.

She is survived by her special children: Susan (Gary) Dourm, Patty (Hardin) Egerton, Mary (Mark) Terry, Tom Henson, Cheryl (Danny) Perry, Kathy (Robbie) Henson Russ, and Ben (Allie) Henson; grandchildren: Danyelle, Micki, Amy, Jessie, Jimmy, Mark, Josh, Matthew, Dylan, Lacey, Harley, Cora, Mandy, Bobby, Allieshea, Katelynn, Rachael, Abbigail, and Saben; great-grandchildren: Connor, Cade, Callan, Annalee, Jamison, Paisley, Walker, Jagger, Jonah, Makenzie, Emma, Elijah, and Brenna; special nieces, Missy Kennedy and Teresa Jones; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted April 12, at New River Baptist Church with Bro. Kermit Phillips and Bro. Guy Ainsworth officiating. Music was provided by her children and Crestin Burke. Interment followed at Chitwood Cemetery.
