Ama Rose Williams Koger, 82 of Helenwood, passed away April 6, 2014, at her home.
Born January 5, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Lovis Jeffers Williams; husband L.C. Koger; infant daughter, son, Charles Benny Koger; brothers: Arthur, Hoyle, George, Hubert, Berlie, Buford, and Sherman Williams; and sisters: Arlie Jeffers, Mae Jeffers, Juanita Gates, and Beatrice Taylor.
She was an avid member of Helenwood Baptist Church and attended until her health declined, and worked many years in the Scott County youth baseball/softball league. The concession stand at the Little League field near Scott High was built through her fund drive efforts. She was also the town of Helenwoodís ëmayorí.
She is survived by her sister, Eva Burress; sister-in-law Joyce ëTootsieí Williams; grandchildren: Charles Clayton Koger and daughter, Sadie, L.C. Grimes, and Courtney Lynn Sexton; and several nephews, nieces, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted April 12, at Helenwood Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Cecil officiating. Interment followed at Williams Family Cemetery.
