Irma Lee Lowe Mason, 87, of the Smokey Junction community, passed away March 24, 2014, at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott.

Born in Scott County, October 25, 1926, she was preceded in death by her parents, of Virgil C. and Bessie Cook Lowe; husband, Bill Mason; infant child, Cletus Rae Mason;  infant grandchild, Cordia Lenell Potter; granddaughter, Emilee Amanda ìMimiî Potter; brothers:  Ewell (Nancy), Roland, and Donald Lowe; grandparents:  Ewell and Melvina Lowe, and Andrew and Emily Belle Cook; sisters:  Patricia Kay Lowe and Vena (Hubert) Lowe;  In-laws: Sam Potter, Odie Byrd, Fielding (Stella) Mason, Nannie Miller Mason, Elmer (Beverly) Mason, Philip (Lilly) Mason, Clyde (Eulah) Mason, F.M. Mason, Raymond (Pauline) Mason, Susie (Hurstle) Acres, and Mary Ward.

She was a founding member of the Mason Family Singers, and sang at numerous churches for more than 40 years. She was a member of Riverview Missionary Baptist Church since 1946.

She is survived by her daughters: Virginia Byrd of Carrollton, Ga., Brenda (Mack) Byrd of the Fairview community, Nannie (Loy) Hatfield of Helenwood, and Cleta Potter, Myrtle (Roger) Lowe, Lynn (Shane) Hatfield, and Kathy Mason, all of the Smokey Junction community; son,  Hedrick (Bridget) Mason of Oneida; grandchildren:  Ricky, Benton, Durenda, Ciara, Gennell, Brandon, Dusty, Shelly, Erika, Alex, Becky and Eddie; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, sisters- and brother-in-law:  Maudie Lowe of Smokey Junction, Joyce Lowe, and Janis (Odis) Owens of the Fairview community, Bernie Mason of Norma, and Larry Lowe of the Smokey Junction community; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

The family was to have received friends Wednesday, March 26, from 6 - 9 p.m., in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 27, at Riverview Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Adkins, Bro. Chad Lowe, Bro. Edmond Lowe, and Bro. Buster Massengale officiating.  Music will be provided by Johnny and Melinda Adkins, and Trea Byrge. Interment will follow at Smokey Creek Cemetery.
