David Conrad Lawrence, 73, of Oneida, passed away March 10, 2014, at Huntsville Manor Nursing Home with family by his side .

He was of the Baptist faith; served in the United States Army; and worked in law enforcement for 25 years before retiring.

Born in Fulton, New York, March 11, 1940, he was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Mabel Smithers Lawrence.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Effie Crawford Lawrence of Oneida; daughters: Tammy (Steve) Harkema of Mountain, Wisc.; Fredia (Richard) Jeffers of Robbins; Nola (James) Ball of Pine Knot, Ky.; and Eva (Bill) Kirby of Madison, Ind.; sons: David Conrad Lawrence, II, of Knoxville, and Jamie Lawrence, and Thomas (Denise) Lay of Winfield; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted March 14, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. John Stephens and Bro. Michael Phillips officiating. Music was provided by the Heartland Singers. Interment followed at Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.
