HUNTSVILLE — If there was a one-word theme for Thursday's meeting of the mayor and board of aldermen here, it was progress.

The 30-minute meeting was relatively brief overall, but included extensive discussion about improvements to the town's park and its sewer treatment plant.

In the only official measure related to either, the board voted unanimously to authorize Mayor George W. Potter to make application for a 2014 recreation grant, a repeat of a 2013 grant that is still being finished up at Flat Creek Park.
