Maynard Brance Huddleston, Jr., passed away February 17, 2014, at North Knoxville Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born July 9, 1956, he was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Brance Huddleston, Sr., and Minnie Luretha Hamby Huddleston Reynolds; infant brothers, Arthur Elam and Benny Maynard Huddleston; sisters, Alice Estes and Gladys Grossman; and in-laws: Howard Estes, Archie McIntosh, Robert Arnold, Johnn Bell, David Bell, Melissa Young, Terry Bell, and Della Young.
He was a medic in the United States Air Force from 1973-1979; served in the National Guard from 1982-83; was a certified electrician, worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and as a security guard; and was a member of Bethalonia United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bell Huddleston; sisters: Deloris (Marion) Ashcraft, Anna Belle McIncosh, Mary Lou Arnold, Luretha (Darrell) Hughes, and Mary Ann; brothers: Doug (Geneva) Huddleston, Royce (Sue) Huddleston, and David (Maggie) Huddleston; in-laws: Ernest, Jerry, James, and Steven Bell, Wanda Davis, Betty (Freeman) Slaven, Darlene (Eugene) Lee, Shelva (Wade) Slaven, and Judy (Chris) Gibson; special friend, Bobby Joe Thomas; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted February 22, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. Burke, Bro. Guy Ainsworth, and Bro. Royce Huddleston officiating. Interment followed at Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
