Garland Watson, 89, passed away February 18, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Scott County, September 5, 1924, he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee and Dottie Ellen Kidd Watson; son, Garland (Butch) Watson; brothers, William and Harold Watson; and sisters, Reba Parton and Dorothy Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, June Chambers Watson; children: David (Florence) Watson, R.V. (Kathy) Watson, Brenda (Larry) Acres, Bob Watson, and James Watson; grandchildren: Patty Barnes, Matt Watson, Jason Acres, Jarred Acres, Justin Acres, David Watson, and Michael Watson; great-grandchildren: Niko, Shana, and Katelyn; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted February 21, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Interment followed at Grave Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
