Julia Bertha McDonald Shepherd, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Huntsville, passed away February 12, 2014, at Signature Health Care of South Louisville, Kentucky.

Born July 11, 1927, she was preceded in death by her parents, Everett C. and Nell Mae Brown McDonald; husband, Jason Shepherd; sons: Everett Frank Chambers and Roger Dale Chambers;

She was a born again Christian and a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Chambers of Louisville, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Chambers of Williamsburg, Ky.; grandchildren: Michele Hunter, Michael Chambers and Matthew Chambers; three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sisters: Genevieve Servey of Iowa, Rose Mary Sharp of Huntsville, Grace Sampson and Anna Helmick, both of  Ky., Betty Adkins of Ga., and Barbara Ooten of Ohio; brothers: Everett C. (Ann) McDonald, Jr., and Howard E. (Joy) McDonald, Sr., all of Maryville, Robert H. (Freda) McDonald of Nashville, and Miller W. (Faye) McDonald of Oneida; 18 nieces; 15 nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted February 18, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Dale Smith officiating. Music was provided by Nancy and Daniel Murley. Interment followed at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
