ALCOA, Tenn. — Victoria Lloyd scored 21 points and Monica Roberts added 20 here Friday, as Scott's Lady Highlanders upset Kingston 57-50 to advance to the District 4-AA semifinals and earn a berth in the Region 2-AA tournament.

Lloyd, who also had eight rebounds, and Roberts teamed up for five 3-point shots. Jessica Edwards added 10 points.

Taylor Thurman had 12 points to lead Kingston.

Scott won despite shooting only 29 percent from the field. The Lady Highlanders were 20 of 38 from the free throw line. Kingston finished 10 of 17 from the line.

The Lady Highlanders entered Friday's first round game with an 0-2 mark against Kingston this season. But Scott led wire-to-wire in Friday's game. After a 6-point first quarter lead and a 7-point halftime lead, the Lady Highlanders stretched the advantage to nine points heading into the fourth quarter.

Thurman scored seven points in the third quarter as Kingston attempted to rally, but Lloyd scored eight points, and the Lady Highlanders outscored the Yellow Jackets 14-12 to take a 9-point lead to the fourth quarter.
