David Leland Reed, 60, passed away February 3, 2014, at UT Hospital in Knoxville.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, December 14, 1954, he was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Leland Reed.

He was employed by Tennessee Highway Patrol for 15 years, Dynamic Security for 15 years, and  at the time of his death was an employee of the Department of Homeland Security.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen Russell Reed of Knoxville; mother, Princess Carson Posey Reed of Oneida; sons: Michael Martin Reed of Knoxville, and David Craig Reed (Jennifer) of Pine Knot, Ky.; daughter Stacy Lynne (Daniel)  of Knoxville;  brother, Thomas C. Reed of Bremen, Ala.; uncle, Royce Reed (Melva) of Kingston; and many other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.

Funeral service was Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Eddie Myers of Son Light Baptist Church officiating. Interment was Saturday at Hazel Valley Cemetery, Oneida.
