COALFIELD — What was once one of District 4-A’s premier showdowns did not hold suspense for long here Monday, as Oneida raced to a 35-11 first half lead and cruised to a 61-22 win over the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Keeping their unbeaten district season alive, the Lady Indians saw Micah Stephens score 12 points to lead all scorers, while Rachael Thomas added 11 — including three 3-point shots in the first quarter that blew the game open early.

Jessi Morgan also finished in double figures, with 10, and Oneida’s top three scorers shot a combined 15 of 17 from the floor, part of a 61 percent team shooting effort.
