HUNTSVILLE — The annual Scott County Middle School Basketball Tournament will be held at Scott High School here next week. And with the exception of the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the boys' bracket, which will be determined by a game between Huntsville and Winfield Friday afternoon, the bracket is nearly complete.
The winner of Friday's game between the Bears and the Bobcats will be the No. 1 seed on the boys' side of the bracket, while the loser will be the No. 2 seed.
The tournament will begin on Monday, with No. 4 Burchfield and No. 5 Robbins playing in the girls' bracket at 6:30 p.m. That game will be followed at 7:45 p.m. by No. 4 Fairview and No. 5 Robbins in the boys' bracket.
On Tuesday, the winner of the Burchfield/Robbins game will face No. 1 Huntsville in the first girls' semifinal at 6 p.m. That game will be followed at 7:15 p.m. by the first boys' semifinal, featuring the Fairview/Robbins winner against the No. 1 team — either Huntsville or Winfield.
Thursday's semifinals will feature No. 2 Fairview and No. 3 Winfield on the girls' side of the bracket at 5 p.m., followed by No. 3 Burchfield and the No. 2 team — either Huntsville or Winfield — at 6:15 p.m.
Saturday's championship games will begin with the girls' game at 6 p.m., followed by the boys' game at 7:30 p.m. Consolation games will begin at 3 p.m. with the girls, followed by the boys at 4:30 p.m.
While the tournament is hosted by Burchfield School this year, all games will be played at Scott High School.
