Scott County’s unemployment rate dropped half a percentage point in November, down to 15.7 percent from October’s seasonally-revised jobless rate of 16.2 percent, according to figures released last week by the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development.

According to the state’s statistics, that rate is based on an estimated local work force of 7,810, of which 6,580 were employed during the month of November and 1,220 were unemployed.
