CLINTON — In a surprisingly defensive contest, William Blount was able to limit Scott to 39 points, sneaking away from Thursday's opening day of play at the Anderson County Christmas Classic with a 41-39 win over the Highlanders.

Reed Daniels scored 12 points to lead William Blount, which was just enough to lift the Governors to the win.

Logan Lowe had 17 to lead all scorers, but William Blount was able to limit Stephen Butts to nine points and limit the Highlanders to just 24 percent shooting and 11 made field goals.
