CLINTON — Merry Carson scored a season-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead three Lady Highlanders in double-figures here Thursday, but it was not enough, as the Knox Ambassadors edged Scott 55-52 in the opening day of play at the Anderson County Christmas Classic.

Ambassadors standout Ashley Jackson scored 27 points to lead all scorers, and her team used a big third quarter to propel itself to the win.
