Oneida's high-scoring duo of Cole West and Josh Sharp combined for 42 points Friday as the Indians started the District 4-A season on the right foot with a 70-58 win over an improved Oakdale squad.
Oneida (4-1, 1-0) was able to expand the lead at times, only to see Oakdale claw back into the game. A big reason for the Eagles' ability to hang around was Tyler Steinmetz, who finished with 27 points — including an 11 of 13 performance at the free throw line.
