Forty-nine of Oneida's 66 points came off the bench Friday, as the Lady Indians defeated Oakdale, 66-37, to open District 4-A play.

Rachel Thomas scored 15 points, while reserve post players Victoria Williams and Shelby Thompson combined for 24 with 14 and 10 points respectively, as Oneida pulled away in the second half for a win over their familiar rival from Morgan County.

The Lady Indians trailed through part of the first quarter, but red-hot shooting from the perimeter helped propel them to a lead that they would not relinquish. Thomas was huge off the bench, hitting five of her first six 3-point shot attempts — three of three late in the first quarter, then two out of three to start the second quarter.
