HUNTSVILLE — It was not pretty, but it was a win.

It is one of the oldest cliches in sports, and on Tuesday Scott's Lady Highlanders were able to apply it to their non-district matchup with Cumberland Gap at Highlander Gymnasium, emerging with a 46-44 victory on a night when little seemed to go right.

Victoria Lloyd had 14 points and Merry Carson added 10 as the Lady Highlanders overcame an early deficit to escape with the win in a contest that was tight throughout.
