Arvil Lee Foster Sr., 79, of Edgewater, Maryland, passed away October 24, 2013.
Born May 8, 1934, he was preceded in death by his parents, Roy L. and Fannie Simpson Foster; son, Arvil Foster, Jr.; brother, Val Foster; and sister, Catherine Dolan.
A long-time resident of Edgewater, he worked for more than 25 years as an oil burner mechanic with Henry B. Meyers Company. He was a member of Weems Creek Baptist Church, and loved bluegrass music, hunting, fishing, attending auctions, and collecting die cast cars.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Katherine Foster; daughter, Anna Crosby and husband, Marty; daughter-in-law, Angel Foster of Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren: Angela Scarberry, Andrew Crosby, and Roy Foster, all of Edgewater; great-grandchildren: Charles, Nathaniel, and Matthew; brothers and sisters: Elmer Foster, Cornelia Largent, Elsie San Nicholas, and Dorothy Britton; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted October 28, at Weems Creek Baptist Church in Annapolis, Md. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.
