Geather Dean Lawson, 58, of Oneida, passed away September 29, 2013, at his home.
Born in Oneida, April 15, 1955, he was preceded in death by his parents, M.J. and Rema Lawson Hughett; children: Sheena, Megan and Dean; two infant brothers, sister, Angela Kay Hughett Jeffers; grandparents, Doc and Daisey Coker Lawson, and Jerry and Earline Hughett; and special uncle, W.C. Sexton.
He was a member of Hill Top Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Marines.
He is survived by his brothers: Jackie Hughett and wife, Susie, and Larry Hughett and wife, Susan, all of Oneida, and Benny Hughett and wife, Connie, of Huntsville; sisters: Dorcella Lowe and husband, Roger, of Helenwood, and Janet Keeton and husband, Paul, of Robbins; step-sister, Sherry Hicks and husband, Tim, of Oneida; special aunts: Anna Lee Sexton, Vela Slaven, and Cora Lee Stephens; special cousin, Michael Sexton; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Graveside service was conducted October 8, at Newport Cemetery with Bro. David Troxel officiating.
West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
