Rev. Paul Hebrew Jackson, 90, of Oneida, passed away September 26, 2013, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Jamestown, October 26, 1922, he was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Fannie Belle (Neal) Jackson; and brother, John D. Jackson.
He served during World War II in U.S. Battery B 20 Artillery Battalion reaching rank Private Fist Class. He was a proud father and loving husband, but above all he was a devout servant to the Lord, and was a member of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church for more than 60 years. He never met a stranger and was always at home with anyone he met. He lived like he loved, with an open heart
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Carol Garland Jackson of Oneida; children: Pamela Smithers, Paula Morrow, Paul Jackson, Jr., and Jenny Posey, all of Huntsville, Christopher Jackson of Oneida, Anthony P. Jackson of Knoxville, and Ashley Hamm of Somerset, Ky.; sisters: Marietta Beatty and Nancy Jackson, both of Jamestown, and Faye Dixon and Eola Owens, both of East Nolle, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted September 29, at 2nd Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Massingale, Bro. Bert Burchfield, and Bro. Darren Duncan officiating. Interment followed at Jackson Family Private Cemetery with full military honors.
Pine Knot Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
