HARROGATE, Tenn. — Aubrie Terry and Madison Yancey each scored two goals here Tuesday to power Oneida, as the Lady Indians raced to a 9-1 win over J. Frank White Academy.
Jenna Bridges, Kaylan McCart, Kayla Watters, Kennedi Reed and Baylee Newport each scored goals as well, with Bridges providing three assists, along with assists by Bailey Lovett, Jessi Morgan, Millie Newport, Tesla Huling and Baylee Newport.
The game was played at Lincoln Memorial University.
"Having the opportunity to play on a college field was awesome," Oneida coach Scott Terry said. "The team didn't take long to adjust to the bigger field. They passed the ball quickly and accurately, using the entire field's space.
"Our defenders and midfielders controlled the game through possession of the ball," Terry added. "They played smart, kept the ball on the ground more, and distributed the ball very well. Our forwards and attacking midfielders played the ball to space for our wings and center forwards to run on to, and they finished the play with goals."
Terry liked the attitude and effort of his team in Tuesday's game.
"When we pass and move the ball quickly and accurately, like we did tonight, we play much better," he said.
The win came 24 hours after another big victory for the Lady Indians: 5-0 over Clinton County (Ky.) on Monday.
In that game, Victoria Williams and Madison Yancey each scored two goals, while Bridges added a fifth goal. Baylee Newport, Morgan, Bridges and Yancey had assists.
The Lady Indians (11-4) will next be in action Oct. 8, when they travel to Corryton, Tenn., to face Gibbs in the regular season finale.
