Ethel Barnes Nichols, 87, of Jellico, passed away September 13, 2013, at Beech Tree Manor.

Born in Stearns, Kentucky, September 30, 1925, she was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Evalee Goad Barnes; husband, Frank Nichols, Sr.; son, Bobby R. Nichols; brothers, Earl and Eddie Barnes; foster-child, Frankie Walters; and mother- and father-in-law, Lula and William Nichols

She was a born again Christian.

She is survived by her son, Frank Nichols, Jr. and wife, Rosa, of Williamsburg, Ky.; daughters: Peggy Furgerson of Jellico, Minnie Shepard of Williamsburg, Ky., and Darlene Guerri and husband. Lynn, of Odessa, Missouri; foster-children: Wilma Whitaker and husband, Clyde, and Andrew, Frankie, and Michael Walters; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; 10 foster-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Brown and son, David, of Oneida; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted September 17, at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Caddell and Sam Walden officiating. Interment was conducted September 17, at Douglas-Sunny Hill (Saxton), Kentucky.
