Karen S. Dawson, 66, of Jacksboro, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away September 9, 2013, at Tennova Hospice.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, February 5, 1947, she was preceded in death by her father, Alvin ìAlî  Harlow.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Dawson; her mother, Grace Morris Harlow; sons: David Dawson, Justin (Jennifer) Dawson, and Danny (Cara Oden) Dawson; grandchildren: Brittany, Breanna, Brady, and their mother, Dawn Dawson, Roan, Audrey, and Elijah Dawson, and Crystalyn Oden; and many other relatives.

She was a 1965 graduate of North High School in Springfield, Ohio, and she and her husband resided in the Clark County area and North Lewisburg for 17 years before moving to Tennessee in 2004.  She was the secretary for the Reunion Association for the USS Tennessee (BB43) and alongside Paul, they were the curators for World War II Remembrance Museum U.S.S. Tennessee (BB43) in Huntsville, Tennessee.

Funeral service was conducted September 14, at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield, Ohio, with Pastor Debbie Vickers officiating.  Interment followed at Rose Hill Burial Park.
