HUNTSVILLE, Tenn. — Christmas came three days early for Scott County Mayor Jeff Tibbals Friday morning.

Tibbals received notification early Friday from the office of Tennessee Attorney General Robert E. Cooper Jr. that the transfer of ownership of the Scott County Hospital facility from the county to Pioneer Health Services has been approved.

The notification came on the 43rd day of the attorney general's 45-day allotted time period to review the transfer of the facility from a government entity to a for-profit entity.
