WINFIELD — The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was airlifted from the scene of a 3-vehicle accident on U.S. Hwy. 27 here early Tuesday evening.

The 5 p.m. accident blocked traffic in either direction just north of the highway's intersection with West Isham Road. The highway remained closed as the cause of the accident was investigated.
