Robert Sevier Duncan, 84 of Cookeville, passed away peacefully, July 3, 2013.

Born and raised in Huntsville, he was preceded in death by his parents, Flem and Cassie Lee Duncan; wife, Marilyn Marie Duncan; three sisters, and three brothers.

He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church; was the founder of Duncan Transfer & Storage in Cookeville; and spent his entire business career in the warehousing and transportation business. He also was an active representative of the Republican Party.

He is survived by his sons: Robert and Margaret Duncan of Knoxville, David and Didge Duncan of Trenton, Ohio, Freddy and Jaymie Duncan, and Stephen Duncan, all of Cookeville; brother, Joe Duncan; sisters: Elizabeth Keck, and Martha Ann Kist; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.

Graveside service was conducted July 6, at Duncan Family Cemetery.

West-Murley Funeral Home Huntsville Chapel had charge of arrangements.
