Betty Jean Anderson, 77, passed away July 6, 2013, at Huntsville Manor & Nursing Home in Huntsville.

Born March 26, 1936, she was preceded in death by her father, Wolfard Anderson; step-father, Maynard Adkins; son, Marlon Scott Anderson; great-granddaughter, Taylor Gibson; brothers and sisters: Charles and Margaret Anderson, Paul, Herbert Ray, and Tommy Anderson; Faye and Odeva Byrd, Rose Marlow, and Artis Carson; and daughter- and brothers-in-law: Susan Anderson, Leslie Mason, and Larry Suddath.

She was involved with Save Our Cumberland Mountains for 40 years, Insurance Women of Knoxville for 30 years, and was one of the start-up leaders for Mountain Peopleís Health Clinics that still serves Scott County. She was a member of Riverview Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Mertie Adkins Anderson; son, Eric Randy Anderson and wife, LaDawn;  grandchildren: Doug Anderson, Jeffery Anderson, April Smith, Misty Seabolt, Erica Anderson, Cody Jyrkas, Keenan Jyrkas, and Robby  Biggs; 10 great-grandchildren, sisters: Ella Mason, Naomi and Steve Chambers; and Joan Suddath; in-laws: Pam Anderson, Billy Marlow, Obal Lee Carson, and Ellie Thompson; special friends: Maureen OíConnor, Joyce Jeffers, and Arleen Milroy; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted July 8, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Kevin Terry officiating. Music was provided by LaDawn Anderson, David and Felicia Walker, and Alfred  Branim. Graveside service was conducted July 9, at Riverview Cemetery.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
