Dorothy Pearl Carson, 86, of Oneida, passed away June 24, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Born in Scott County, March 21, 1927, she was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Ella Lucille Chambers; husband, Jimmie Carson; brothers: Sylvester Bud, Hurstle and Leona, Milford, Sinclair and Lessie, Opal, Bobby and Anne, Gerald, and Hoyal Chambers; sisters: Lula Thompson, and Lille, Slyvia Jewell, Clettia Irene, Goldy Marie, and Helen Frances Chambers; and brother-in-law, Bill Jenkins.

She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church since 1960.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Carson, Sr. and wife, Frances; adopted son, James Jones; daughter, Pamela Jones; grandchildren: Ricky Carson, Jr., and Dorothy J. Riggs; great-grandchildren: Anna Marie, Willard Lynn, John, and Edward Henry Michael; sister, Vertia Jenkins; sister-in-law, Rretta Chambers; special friend, Peggy Ronden; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted June 27, at Pine Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Dilmon Stanley and Bro. Keith Marcum officiating. Graveside service was conducted June 28, at Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.
