Leona M. Chambers Coffey, 91 of Oneida, passed away May 19, 2013, at Oneida Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born in Huntsville, October 8, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Osey Strunk Chambers; husband, Ralph Coffey; sons: Charles and Sgt. William Coffey; sisters, Evelyn Rose, and Martha Rankins; brothers: Garfield and James Chambers; three grandchildren; son-in-law, William (Bill) Sexton; and special son, John Matthews

She was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church, and loved God, her husband, Ralph, and all children especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She had a hobby of collecting dolls.

She is survived by her daughter, Ella M. Coffey Sexton; grandchildren: Scott Sexton and wife, Mary, and Pamela Williams, and Michael Sexton, all of Dayton, Ohio, Michelle Ellis of Oneida, and Mark Coffey and wife, Billie, of Dalton, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Elma Elkins, Laura Phillips, Golda Phillips, and Betty Sharpe and husband, Galen, all of Georgia; daughters-in-law: Brenda Coffey Carter and Phyllis Coffey; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted May 23, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Smith and Bro. David Smith officiating. Music was provided by singers from Winfield Baptist Church and Jeff Cornelius. Interment followed at the Litton Cemetery.

Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
