Evelyn Douglas Davis Stinson, 95 of Allon, Tennessee, formerly of Huntsville, passed away May 16, 2013.

Born in Elk Valley, February 22, 1918, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. T.R. and Charity Duncan Douglas; husbands, Ethan Davis and Levy Stinson; brother, Marion Douglas; and sisters: Margaret Inez Douglas, Annie Bell Morgan, and Estelle Ballew.

She worked in the Huntsville school cafeteria and Jerry ThompsonĂ­s store before moving and working at the McKendree Manor in Old Hickory. She was a member of the Madison Missionary Baptist Church-Nashville, and resided in Huntsville from 1944-1972 and Old Hickory, from 1972-2009. In 2009 she made her home with her son for the last 10 years due to dementia.

She is survived by her son, Sam Davis and wife, Kay, of Allon, Tenn.; grandchildren: Brian Davis and Melissa Keadle; great-grandchildren: Matthew, James and Christopher; sisters: Irene Russell of LaFollette, Ella Ruth Foust and husband, Vincent, of Lake City, and Beatrice Apple of Ringgold, Ga.; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Graveside service was conducted May 18, at Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

West Murley Funeral Home Huntsville Chapel had charge of arrangements.
