William "Bryan" Laxton, 61, of Oneida, passed away May 19, 2013, at his home.

Born in Oneida, February 5, 1952, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Esau and Mertie Laxton, and Alta and Eamer Sexton; and father-in-law, Jess Weaver.

He worked as an accountant, was a member of Paint Rock Baptist Church, and a 1970 graduate of Huntsville High School. He was an outstanding athlete and student, and received a BS degree in business from the University of Tennessee, and a Masters Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He was enrolled at Cumberland Bible Institute and was awarded the Dr. Ewell Harges Award for excellence and diligence for punctuality and preparation in his studies. He loved researching Biblical scriptures.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Weaver Laxton of Oneida; daughters: Brynae Miley and husband, Michael, Lynette Keeton and husband, Monty, Tess Smith and husband, Joe Pete, and Megan Chambers and husband, Rowdy; grandchildren: Timiah Terry, Jolie Smith, Julie Chambers, Cam Keeton, Jackson Pete Smith, Austin Miley, and R. J. Chambers; father, William Esau Laxton and wife, Rosalee; mother, Mary Emily Sexton; sisters: Donna Kaye Wojnaroski and husband, Alan, and Jeannie Jo Jeffers and husband, Herb; step-sisters: Dodi Checote, and Melba Eads and husband, Gary; mother-in-law, Eunice Cotton; sisters-in-law: Glenda Parr and husband, Roger, and Jewell Gilbert and husband, Grover; special friend, Alan Wojnaroski; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida on Thursday, May 23, from 3 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m., with Bro. Paul Dean Barnes, Rev. George Harold Sexton, and Rev. Larry Butts officiating. Music will be provided by the Paint Rock Baptist Church Choir, Debbie Terry, Missy Roberts, and Cody Stephens. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, May 24,  at Sexton Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock community.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either: Paint Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 4970 Paint Rock Rd. Oneida, TN 37841; or Cumberland Baptist Institute, 852 Parkers Mill Rd., Somerset, KY 42501.
