Benjamine F. (Ben) Lowe, 64, of Dunkirk, Indiana, lost his battle with COPD May 13, 2013, with family members in attendance at his daughterís residence in Redkey, Indiana.

Born in the Smokey Junction community, December 19, 1948, he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cynthia Patterson Lowe; brothers: Alfred, John, and Ray Lowe; and sister, Easter Lowe.

He spent his last days with his greatest treasurers, his wife and family. He was an avid hunter and mechanic, and loved talking on his CB radio. He was a wonderful jokster and story teller, was a retired batch house operator at St. Gobain Glass Company, and was a member of Local 96.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jane Wise Lowe; daughters: Cynthia Shepherd and husband, Mike, of Redkey, Ind., and Debra White of Albany, Ind.; step-daughters: Julie Lloyd and husband, Rex, of Muncie, Ind., and Mary Smitley of Dunkirk, Ind.; grandchildren: Autumn Shepherd, Garrett Shepherd, Kalib White, Topanga White, Tyler Lennington, Elijah Davis, Heather Crouch, and Desiree Brown; seven great-grandchildren, sisters: Ruth Crabtree and husband, L.B., of Huntsville, and Mary Smithers and husband, Danny, of Somerset, Ky.; brothers: Moses Lowe and wife, Mae, and Delford Lowe and wife, Beatrice, all of the Smokey Junction community, Kenny Lowe of Huntsville, Aaron Lowe and wife, Judy, of Monterey, Silas Lowe and wife, Billie, of Resaca, Ga., and Paul Lowe of Oneida; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted May 18, at M J S Mortuaries Redkey Chapel with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Graveside service followed at Center Cemetery, Portland, Ind.
