HUNTSVILLE — The vicinity of River Road south of Huntsville is a “ground zero” of sorts for Memorial Day weekend in Scott County, where thousands of off-road enthusiasts are expected for a pair of festivals that will take place just miles apart.

Brimstone Recreation has called the White Knuckle Event — its annual Memorial Day weekend festival — the “Woodstock of ATV events” for several years, and this year’s show may be the biggest so far. As usual, Brimstone’s festival will feature three days of events featuring everything from mud bogs to guided trail rides. New this year is a second concert in addition to the usual Saturday night concert.

Brimstone announced last week that Uncle Kracker will appear in concert at a “riders appreciation concert” tomorrow (Friday) at 7 p.m. Jamey Johnson was announced several months ago as the headliner for the Saturday evening concert. Both concerts will take place at the Half Cabin Event Area on Trail No. 3 off River Road, which is the main staging area for the White Knuckle Event.
