Beatrice Norris Smith, 93, of Robbins passed away May 13, at Fentress County Signature Health Care Nursing Home in Jamestown.
Born February 16, 1920, she was preceded in death by her parents, James Elbert and Edna Florence Newport Norris; husband, Ben M. Smith; daughter, Beulah Mills and husband, Morgan; brothers: Willard, Arthur, Warren and Lester Norris; sisters: Christine Bond, Hester Chambers, and Nettie Risden; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Ted Chambers, Robert Wollbright, Elmer Risden, Led Bond, Ada Byrd Norris, Ada Foster Norris, and Mary Lee Norris; and daughters-in-law: Lonais Smith and Lois Hogan.
She was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed gardening, canning, raising kids, and sewing quilts and various other things.
She is survived by her children: Mary Helen Scalia and husband, John, Fred Smith, William Smith, and Ronald Smith and wife, Dawn; grandchildren: Debra Bayliff, Toni Reber, John Scalia, Jr., Gary Smith, Teresa Smith, Kevin Mills, Steven Mills, Lisa Monday, Jodie Smith, Shane Smith, and Jessica Cross; great-grandchildren: Mike, Jessie, Allen, Sarah, Elizabeth, Kathryn, David, Ben, Kati, Jennifer, Julia, Erin, Brent, Jade, Haley, Jillian, Addison, Emily, and Constance; great-great-grandchild, Rayna; brothers: James Ray Norris and wife, Violet, Elbert Roy Norris and wife, Marlene, and Raymond Gene Norris and wife, Margaret; sister, Vivian Wollbright; special friends: Bill King and Lushia King; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
The family was to have received friends in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida, Wednesday, May 15, from 6 p.m. until time funeral service at 8 p.m., with Bro. Jeff Davis officiating. Music was to have been provided by Jimmy and Sarah Byrd. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 16, at Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins.
