Simply saying thank you doesn’t seem enough for all those who contributed to the success of CASA’s First Annual Scott Sportsman Showcase.

The Showcase Committee would like to thank all the event sponsors: First National Bank, First Trust & Savings Bank, Oneida Kiwanis Club, Brimstone Recreation, Citizen’s Bank, Cumberland Wood Products, Grand Vista, Human Outsource and Scott County Circuit Court Clerk Donnie Phillips.

Also, to all those who played a part in the program the night of the event: Sam Venable, one of the most entertaining sportsmen around; Lee’s Famous Chicken for the absolutely delicious meal, J.J. & Traci Dower for their auctioneering services, the TWRA officers for their time and expertise in the scoring of the whitetails, along with Reed Brothers, and the staff of the Boys and Girls Club. We also owe major kudos to the Independent Herald, Scott County News and WBNT for their media coverage and to Plateau Drug Center for their complimentary printing of our posters and tickets.

The live and silent auction would not have been successful had it not been for the generous donations of the businesses and individuals of our very own community and the many others who believed in the event and the CASA mission.

CASA staff would also like to thank the Sportsman Committee, those who helped to pull the event off: Ben Garrett, Bonnie Grooms, Cassie Whaley, Erika Schmelter, Jeremy West, Kathy Reed, Tena West, Terry Stephens, Vickie Jones, Wade Young, Wayne King, and Wompie Sexton.

We cannot wait for CASA’s 2nd Annual Scott Sportsman Showcase to get here and several are already making preparations. If you missed this year’s event, stayed tuned for information regarding next year’s because I promise you will not want to miss it.
