Shirley Lou Duncan Wright, 71, of Robbins, passed away April 22, 2013, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born in Pineville, Kentucky, February 25, 1942, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Josh and Jewel King Duncan; husband, Casto Wright; father- and mother-in-law, Rev. Hobert and Rosa Wright; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Park Whittenburge, Hubert Byrd, Lois Hogan, Aree and Columbus Blevins, Flora and Clyde Terry, Wanda Compton, and Flonnie and Bill Blevins; niece, Charlotte Brinker; and great-niece, Crissy Edgerton Cash.
She was a member of New River Baptist Church, and a long-time member of Eastern Star Sunshine Chapter #279.
She is survived by her daughters: Missie Kennedy and husband, Jeff, and Teresa Jones and husband, Larry, all of Robbins; grandchildren, Gage and Cassie Kennedy; sister, Betty Whittenburge of Huntsville; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Ruth and Guy Ainsworth, and Hazel and Bob DeBord, all of Robbins, Onlee and Clifford Garrett of Helenwood, Marie Byrd of Mich., and Bill Smith of Soddy Daisy; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Eastern Star service was conducted April 25, with funeral service conducted April 26, at New River Baptist Church with Bro. Kermit Phillips, Bro. Guy Ainsworth, and Bro. Brad Kennedy officiating. Music was provided by Ben Henson, and Arzo and Linda Hamby. Interment followed at Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
