Betty Rose Childers King, 82, of Huntsville, passed away April 27, 2013, at her home.

Born August 6, 1930, she was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Martha West Childers; husband, Herman E. King; sister, Mattie Burress; and brothers: Harrison, William (Bill), and Jim Childers.

She worked as a seamstress, loved crocheting, sewing, and watching her favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. She loved caring for her family and was a Christian since the age of 14.

She is survived by her children: Diane Brown and husband, Steve, Marilyn Phillips and husband, Dana, Dennis and Mickie King, and Greg and Vita King; grandchildren: Mike Phillips, Nick and Jhen Phillips, Angel and Tony Hamby, Tonya and Joe King, Jeremy Brown, Jamie Brown, Lee and Angela King, Daniel and Michelle King, Abbie and Jake Lowe, Kayla and Chris Rogers, Amanda and Michael Currence, Jacob Stephens, Corey Chumley, and Nikki Chumley; great-grandchildren: Nicollette, Tori, Caleb, Chase, Glory, Tosha, Jordan, Josh, Haley, Kloee, Baylee, Zack, Raeleigh, Jace, Jeagan, Zander, Jayda, Parker, Wyatt, and Kiara; great-great-grandchildren: Jaycee and Carlee; brothers: George Childers, and Louie Childers and wife, Barbara; sisters: Hattie Morris, and June Butler; brother- and sisters-in-law: Ira Burress, Lela Childers, and Ann Childers; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted April 29, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Landon Sexton and Bro. Terry Evanswood officiating. Music was provided by Lynn Hyman, Kristi Russ, Sandra Sproles, and Daniel Murley. Graveside service was conducted April 30, at New Light Cemetery.
