Meeting for the first time since voting to dissolve the long-standing Oneida Water Board and appoint themselves to that position, the Oneida Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in the capacity of the water board Thursday morning.

Near the conclusion of a meeting that was mostly informal in nature, Sharon Miller made a motion — seconded by Linda Lay and approved by a 3-1 vote with Cecil Anderson dissenting — to approve supplements of $25,000 per year for Oneida Mayor Jack E. Lay and $12,500 per year for town recorder Betty Matthews, retroactive to Feb. 1.

Miller originally proposed those supplements at the Board of Aldermen's regular meeting last month.
