HUNTSVILLE — Between now and the end of September, Scott County’s spending will be curtailed to “essential county operations” only, as the result of a resolution adopted by County Commission here Monday evening.

By a 13-0 vote with one member (Blue Day) absent, the commission not only endorsed a recommendation by a joint meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee to curtail spending through the end of the current fiscal year, but went a step further by extending it through the first quarter of the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
