Richard (Dick) Hiestand of Peachtree City, Georgia,  formerly of Oneida, passed away March 17, 2013, at his home after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie, who was killed in a tragic accident on New River hill in 1983; father- and mother-in-law, Clarence and Julia McIntyre; and sister-in-law, Jane McIntyre.

He was one of five men from Columbus, Ind., sent to Oneida to start the Arvin Manufacturing Plant in the early 1960ís. In 1962, he married Mary Maud McIntyre, a home economics teacher at Scott High School.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Maud Hiestand of Peachtree City, Ga.; sons, John and Jeremy; grandson, James; daughter-in-law, Lisa; sister, Janie (Steve) Van Kleek; brother, Ray (Eileen) Hiestand; Scott County relatives: Mary Etta Neely and Kathy Obrusanszki; and many other relatives.
