Lucy Byrd, 86, passed away February 3 2013, at Huntsville Manor Nursing Home.

Born March 15, 1926, she was preceded in death by her parents, Greenberry and Mary Elizabeth Jeffers; husband, Dorsey Byrd; sister, Eliza Jeffers; brothers: Granville, Louis, Barry, Silas, Emsley, and Ed Jeffers; and daughter-in-law, Linda Byrd.

She was a member of Mill Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons: Henry Byrd and wife, Peggy, of Lorain Ohio, Raymond Byrd of Pleasureville, Ky., Jimmy Byrd and wife, Lois, of Robbins, George Byrd and wife, Linda, Allen Byrd, and Chester Byrd and wife, Donna, all of the Mill Branch community, and Finley Byrd and wife, Valerie, of Elk Valley; step-sons: J. E and wife, Florence, and Glen Byrd and wife, Sarah, all of Lorain, Ohio, and D.T and wife, Linda, of Amherst, Ohio; step-daughter, Artie Burkholder and husband, Titus, of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service February 7, at Mill Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Watson and Bro. Tom Burress officiating. Music was provided by the Heartfelt Singers. Interment followed at Mill Branch Cemetery.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
