Alta Smith Webb, 101, of Oneida, passed away February 6, 2013, at Jamestown Regional Hospital in Jamestown.

Born in Scott County, August 15, 1911, she was preceded in death by her parents, Richard S. and Mary Etta Terry Smith; husband, Crusoe Webb; daughter-in-law, Carol Webb; sisters: Cassie Smith, Arizona Smith, and Cornelia Rosser; and brother, Ralph Espy Smith.

She worked in the hosiery mill for several years and was the co-owner of Webbís Dairy on Pine Creek. She professed a hope in Christ in November of 1926 and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, later moving her membership to Pine Creek Baptist Church. She was an alto singer in the churches and in the Webbís Quartet.

She is survived by her sons: R.H. Webb and wife, Mary Anne, and David Webb; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sister, Flonnie Webb Stephens; sister-in-law, Rebecca Smith; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted February 8, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. Graveside service was conducted February 9, at Smith-Forbis Cemetery.

Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
