ALCOA -- Kenny Dean scored 19 points to lead three Alcoa players in double figures and pace the Tornadoes to an 80-43 district win over Scott here Tuesday evening.

Alcoa, which is still in the hunt for the regular season District 4-AA title, out-scored Scott 28-12 in the second quarter to break open a tight ballgame before the intermission.

Dean scored 10 of his 19 in the offensive explosion, which saw the Tornadoes build a 41-23 halftime lead. The third quarter, like the first quarter, was close, but Alcoa was able to widen the advantage to 61-39 heading into the fourth quarter, where they limited the Highlanders to just one made field goal.

Stephen Butts scored 13 points to lead the Highlanders. Logan Lowe added 10.

Tuesday's game was Scott's first meeting with Tony Jones' Alcoa squad this season. An earlier date was postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams will meet again in Huntsville on Monday. Before that game -- the final of the regular season -- the Highlanders will travel to Stone Memorial on Thursday and Anderson County on Saturday.

SCORING: Scott -- Butts 13, Lowe 10, Smithers 7, Honeycutt 6, Myers 4, Muse 2, Crabtree 1. Alcoa -- Dean 19, Miller 14, White 11, Love 9, Teeter 8, Ma. McClurg 6, Brimer 4, Ferguson 4, Gilbert 3, Mi. McClurg 2.
